- Today's editions of WKRG-TV's local 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. news
programs ("WKRG News 5 at 6" and "WKRG News 5 at 10" respectively) each
had a report about members of the video production company Major League Baseball (MLB) Productions
being in Mobile today to record footage for a documentary
about a former professional baseball player originally from Mobile named
Henry (Hank) Aaron that was expected to be broadcast later in the
current calendar year (the former player was said to have been in Mobile to be recorded for the documentary on this day).
- One of the hosts for WALA-TV's local entertainment and lifestyle program (the name of the host was Chasity Byrd; the name of the program was "Studio 10") had a guest help her present a weather segment for today's edition of the program (the guest was identified as a student six years of age and given the title of "guest meteorologist" on the program) since she remembered the guest telling her that she wanted to be a meteorologist like her when they first met sometime between November and December (the host said she was collecting money for the Salvation Army by the time she met the guest.
