- One of the high-definition cable TV channels in the cable TV system operated by Comcast Cablevision of Mobile had a new promotional advertisement for WFNA-TV in which the voice of one of the announcers for WFNA-TV's new companion station (WKRG-TV) was used to promote a network program they were set to broadcast today (the name of the announcer was Jay Gardner; the name of the network program was "The Flash"; as for the cable TV channel, it was for the USA Network, a national cable TV and satellite TV programming service).
- The weather reporter on this past Monday's (February 2nd) edition of WKRG-TV's local midday news programs ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") mentioned the cities of Seattle, Washington, and Boston, Massachusetts, along with their weather conditions at the time of the program's broadcast as part of his report since the professional football teams closest to the cities (the Seahawks of Seattle and the Patriots of New England) were playing a championship game of football (the 49th Super Bowl, or Super Bowl XLIX) on the previous day (he said the rain in Seattle reflected its mood after its local team lost the game).
