• WKRG-TV, WPMI-TV, and WALA-TV had different ways of referring to one of the sons of the mayor of Mobile in their local news broadcasts after 12:00 p.m. today (his proper name was Sandys Miller Stimpson):   

• WKRG-TV's way: His first name was usually spelled S-A-N-D-S and usually pronounced the way most folks usually pronounced the word "sands".
• WALA-TV's way: His first name was usually spelled S-A-N-D-Y-S and usually pronounced the way most folks usually pronounced the word "sands".
• WPMI-TV's way: He was usually referenced as having the same first and last names as the mayor of Mobile: "Sandy Stimpson" (the mayor's proper name was William Sandys Stimpson).
