News for Sunday, September 17th, 2017

  • The main broadcast channel for WALA-TV had a local news program between the last five minutes of the hour of 11:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the sixteenth day of this September and the first 24 minutes of the hour of 12:00 a.m. this Sunday shortly after having special sports programming (mainly about a particular football game) from their main provider of network programming (the FOX Broadcasting Company) when it was usually set to have a local news program on Saturday evenings in recent times (the first half of the hour of 9:00 p.m.). 
  • The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the second half of the hour of 6:00 p.m.* and the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this past Saturday had a member of their local news operation who was usually not the news presenter for the local news programming they had on Saturday evenings in recent times (the name of the one who was usually the news presenter for such programming on Saturday evenings in recent times was Ashley Knight  as for the name of the one for the programming they had this past Saturday evening, it was Mary Smith**) 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV during the first half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. this Sunday ("Local 15 News at 5 p.m.") had its news presenter (Andrea Ramey) suggesting that she was part of a trip to the border between the United States and Mexico while presenting video about such a trip (she had used the word "we" while introducing the video) with the logo of a national TV program from their holding (or "parent") company (the Sinclair Broadcast Group) and the host of the program (the name of the program was "Full Measure with Sharyl Attikisson"; the name of its host was Sharyl Attikisson). 
  • A local radio program dedicated to news and public affairs broadcast by WDLT-FM during the second half of the hour of 5:00 a.m. and WBLX-FM during the first half of the hour of 6:00 a.m. this Sunday ("In Touch Gulf Coast") had its host (Beverly McDowell) talking about her having been part of the part of the radio station formerly known as WKRG-AM (WNTM-AM)*** when it was part of the original ownership of WKRG-TV (along with the radio station formerly known as WKRG-FM (WMXC-FM)) and her having personal connections to certain members of their respective operations (such as a news reporter and news presenter for WKRG-TV named Mel Showers) along with her sharing some personal stories about them.
(*the channel was usually set to have a local news program during the first half of the hour and a syndicated program named "Today's Homeowner with Danny Lipford" during the second half of it before this past Saturday (as for what it had during the first half of it this past Saturday, it had special sports programming (mainly about a particular football game) from the main provider of network programming for WKRG-TV (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS))
