News for Friday, November 4th, 2016
- According to some messages
on the official Facebook page for WKRG-TV dated for this past Thursday
(the third day of this November), some participants of a telephonic
survey conducted for them concerning four candidates for the presidency
of the United States (Hillary Clinton, Gary Johnson, Jill Stein, and
Donald Trump) received a "follow-up" question that did not reflect their answers to
its first question while participating.
- One
of the news presenters for the local news program that appeared on the
main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV this past Thursday morning (Darwin Singleton on "Local 15 Today") promoted a plan by their holding (or "parent") company (the Sinclair Broadcast Group) after presenting a news report related to that plan on the program that day (this is what he about the plan: "On Saturday night (this Saturday), our parent company
Sinclair Broadcast Group is producing a one-hour special (or Internet broadcast) looking at the
opioid epidemic plaguing our country right now").
- One of the weather reporters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Michael White) mocked one the hosts of a local TV program of theirs dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles (Joe Emer of "Studio 10")
while substituting for him this Friday (he was speaking to its other
host/weather reporter (Chasity Byrd) at the time; as for what he said about the other host: "I mean how many
times have you been doing weather on this show and Joe says, 'Aw, when
is the rain going to stop? You know, when is it going to stop raining"?
(the other host responded by saying,"He does that with temperatures
too". Immediately after her response he said, "I just don't think we can make him happy
with weather").
