News for Friday, October 6th, 2017

  • The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first halves of the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the fifth day of this October ("WKRG News 5 at 5" and "WKRG News 5 at 6" respectively) each had video of a news reporter for their local news operation (Hayley Minogue) demonstrating how to prepare a house for a tropical cyclone.
  • Some of the local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channels for WKRG-TV, WALA-TV, and WPMI-TV since the Thursday of the fifth day of this October had some members of their local news operations promoting some digital applications (or "apps") for receiving information pertaining to weather with the brand names for their respective news operations after presenting information pertaining to a tropical cyclone named "Nate".
  • An Internet video stream that usually had local news programming for WKRG-TV in recent times had a recording of the the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV by the end of the Thursday of the fifth day of this October instead of the local news program that appeared on the channel during the second half of the hour of 4:00 a.m. and the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. this Friday ("WKRG News 5 This Morning").
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 4:00 a.m. this Friday had one of its news presenters (Eric Reynolds) saying this: "FOX10 News is committed to keeping you one step ahead of the storm, We'll have continuing coverage throughout our newscasts this morning, which has been extended to ten o'clock today (note: the channel was usually set to have a local program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles during the hour of 9:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday in recent times ("Studio 10"), and then tomorrow morning we'll be starting at 5 a.m." (note: the channel was not usually set to have local news programming during the first half of the hour of 4:00 a.m. from Monday through Friday or the hour of 5:00 a.m. on Saturday in recent times).
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. this Friday ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") had one of its regular news presenters (Lenise Ligon) talking about a "programming alert" concerning their local news programming and a weekly sports program of theirs that was usually set to appear on the channel from the beginning of the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. to the middle of it on Friday in recent times ("First and 10") while a graphic of some text of what she was talking about appeared (this is what she said, "A programming alert, now, because of 'Tropical Storm Nate', we are extending our coverage for you. So that means 'First and 10' will not start until 10:15 tonight and our morning newscast starts at 5:00 tomorrow morning; runs until 10:30" (note: the channel was not usually set to have local news programming during the hours of 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday in recent times).
