- A Facebook page attributed to WALA-TV appeared to have had live video of one of the news presenters for their local news operation (Bob Grip) using a former slogan ("fair and balanced") for a national cable TV and satellite TV programming service specialized in news (the FOX News Channel) connected to their main provider of network programming (the FOX Broadcasting Company) while promoting their own news operation.
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the second half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Sunday of the fifteenth day of this October ("WKRG News 5 at 10")* had its sports reporter (Robby Baker) telling its audience they were "probably sleeping" while a certain football game involving the football teams for the University of Washington and Arizona State University while presenting a report concerning it.
- The local news program mentioned in the previous paragraph had its news presenter (Ashley Knight) referring to a TV station not related to its own station by ownership based in the city of New Orleans in the state of Louisiana (WWL-TV) by a phrase normally used in referring such stations in some of the other local news programming its own station had produced in recent times while attributing some details of a news report to them.
- An Internet video stream normally used for streaming local news programs for the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV in recent times occasionally had a graphic with a logo for their broadcast operation and the words "We'll Be Right Back" interrupt its streaming of a local news program of theirs within the first five minutes of its broadcast on the channel for a few minutes before having the rest of it (as if it were never interrupted) before a break in its broadcast on the channel since the previous calendar week.
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. this Wednesday ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") had its news presenter (Joseph Blake (J. B.) Biunno**) introducing what appeared to had been live video of a reporter for a TV station related to them by ownership*** based in the city of Nashville in the state of Tennessee doing a news report for them from a remote location (this is what he said while doing so: "Reporter Najahe Sherman from our sister station WKRN joins us live from Smyrna Airport with more on today's ceremony" (note: the second paragraph from the top of this report concerns the way the phrase "sister station" was used here)).
(**he was not a regular news presenter for the program)
(***they were part of a holding company named the Nexstar Media Group)
