- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the one hour of 9:00 p.m. this Tuesday ("FOX 10 News at
9:00 p.m.") had its news presenter (Bob Grip) doing a biased presentation concerning certain electronic devices (this is what he said: "It might be an
embarrassing moment for Apple: a new report says in its first month on
the market the iPhone 8 is being outsold by last year's iPhone 7.
Customers are reaching for the older Apple iPhone 7 because apparently
they don't see any big difference with the new model. The iPhone 8 has a
faster processor and the best camera ever put into an Apple smartphone,
however the handset is very similar in appearance to the iPhone 7 which
now sells for a hundred fifty dollars less".
- A digital sub-channel was added to the broadcast operation for WKRG-TV
sometime between the morning hours of this Tuesday and the Sunday of the fifteenth day of this October (its
programming feed appeared similar to that of one of the digital
sub-channels for WALA-TV (both of them appeared to consist of
programming from a national TV programming service named Laff*).
- The local news program mentioned in the paragraph above the previous one appeared to
have video
of a professional announcer for various TV and radio stations in
southwest Alabama (including a former group of radio stations named WABB-AM and WABB-FM) without any mention of his having been such an
announcer (he was identified only as Barry Silverman in the video).
- A World Wide Web site attributed to WPMI-TV had some video concerning a news presenter for their local news operation getting married this past September and her name being changed as a result of it (from "Kym Thurman" to "Kym Anderson"**).
(*
A World Wide Web site attributed to Laff appeared to have both WALA-TV and WKRG-TV listed as stations for which their programming could be found)
(**
the site had a profile of her without any mention of the name she had adopted after some of the local news programming they had on
the Monday on the sixteenth day of this October had an animated sequence
with an announcement and some text of that name)
