News for Monday, May 28th, 2018 (amended)

  • The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV appeared to have had an advertisement (with texts such as, "WEEKNIGHTS", "5:00 PM", and "CHANNEL 5.3") for a certain program for one of their digital sub-channels (the one that usually appeared to have had programs from a national TV programming service named Memorable Entertainment Television (Me-TV)) with an announcer saying, "Weeknights at five on Me-TV Gulf Coast" during the first half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Monday of the twenty-eighth day of this May (the name of the program was "Mama's Family").  
  • The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. and the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Friday of the twenty-fifth of this May ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m." and "FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m." respectively) each appeared to have had a report in which the words "historic floods" were part of their narratives ("Since the historic floods in the spring of two thousand fourteen..." (note #1: the first program mentioned appeared to have had such a report being presented in a certain video with a narrator whereas the second program appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Byron Day) presenting such a report (note #2: the report on the first program mentioned had ended this way: "Hal Scheurich, FOX 10 News" (note #3: the name "Hal Scheurich" were the forename and surname of a news reporter for the news operation at WALA-TV))).
  • The main broadcast channel for WJTC-TV appeared to have had a certain program named "The Simpsons" when it was usually set to have a new installment of a certain local TV program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles for the main broadcast channel of their companion station ("Gulf Coast Today" for WPMI-TV) from Monday through Friday in recent times this Monday (note #1: the channel for WPMI-TV appeared to have had special programming (related to a certain sport) from their main provider of network programming (the National Broadcasting Company (NBC)) when it usually appeared to have a new installment of the program named "Gulf Coast Today" before the one for WJTC-TV from Monday through Friday in recent times (the second half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. (note #2: WJTC-TV and WPMI-TV were related to each other due to their having been members of a holding company named the Sinclair Broadcast Group before this Monday in recent times))). 
  • One of the weather reporters and both of the news presenters for the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Sunday of the twenty-seventh day of this May ("WKRG News 5 at 5") appeared to had been certain members of their news operation who were usually in those roles only for the local news programming it had between the beginning of the hour of 6:00 p.m. and the beginning of the hour of 11:00 p.m. for Monday through Friday in recent times (note #1: the name of the aforementioned weather reporter was Alan Sealls; the names of the news presenters were Mel Showers and Rose Ann Haven (note #2: the name of the other weather reporter for the program was Thomas Geboy (note #3: the one named Alan Sealls was also a weather reporter for the local news program that appeared on the channel during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the twenty-sixth day of this May with the one named Thomas Geboy ("WKRG News 5 at 10").
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Monday of the twenty-first day of this May ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of its reporters (a weather reporter named Jason Smith) saying, "Here's your extended forecast and we have elevated rain chances this week: sixty percent on Tuesday and Wednesday; backing off to fifty percent on Thursday and Friday. Shower chances ramp back up in time for the Memorial Day weekend with daytime highs in the upper eighties; overnight lows around seventy, and some of that by the weekend could be the result of a weak tropical system headed our way. We'll have more on that tomorrow morning with..." and one of its news presenters (Byron Day) saying, "Eric, Sarah, Michael -- all for the your overnight news and wake-up weather forecast" immediately afterwards (note: its other news presenter (Lenise Ligon) appeared to had said, "Yeah they'll start the show for you at four thirty in the morning and they're on until nine a.m." immediately afterwards)).
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Sunday of the twenty-seventh day of this May appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Shelby Myers) saying, "Our soldiers" in the narrative of a report ("Alabama troops will be heading to the border; Governor Ivey announcing a helicopter and five national guard troops will be deployed to help at the Texas-Mexico border; our soldiers will support the Texas Guard in partnership with border control activities; the mission will provide an additional tool for observation and tracking of illegal activity in the region; the soldiers will not be conducting law enforcement operations"); her saying, "Yeah, and like you said, Lee, a scary day for several swimmers in Orange Beach today" to its other news presenter (Lee Peck) and that very news presenter saying, "That's right, yeah -- life guards there saved seven people from Rip Currents. Our Kati Weis joins us live from the Cotton Bayou Beach Access in Orange Beach. Kati, some dangerous conditions out there" immediately afterwards before appearing to have had the "Kati Weis" mentioned by him saying, "Oh, no doubt about that, Lee and Shelby. There were actually five water rescues and two water assists today here in Orange Beach. If you're wondering, a water assist is when someone who's even got a flotation device still needs assistance getting back to shore.
