News for Thursday, May 10th, 2018
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel
for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the
Wednesday of the ninth day of this May ("WKRG News 5 at 5") appeared to
have had audio of one of its news presenters (Devon Walsh)
saying, "Coming up, pollen so dense that it explodes off a tree. After the break the video that's been shared tens of thousands of times
and is Peter's worst nightmare" and audio of a certain Peter who was its
other news presenter (Peter Albrecht) laughing with her immediately afterwards. .
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Wednesday
of the ninth day of this May ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to have had audio of one of its news presenters (Byron Day)
saying, "Well the master plan has been approved -- and Lenise -- just go
ahead and read that one" while having video of a certain "Lenise" who was its other news presenter (Lenise Ligon)
before appearing to have had audio of her saying, "We have information on a
plan for the Causeway project in Spanish Fort; how the city's going to
pay for it -- we've got the details for you next" while having some video without either one of them immediately afterwards (note: the video appeared above some graphics resembling text of "COMING UP").
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Wednesday
of the ninth day of this May ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had
one of its news presenters (Rose Ann Haven) saying, "That's right,
y'all" for one of its reports immediately after appearing to have had video of a certain other person (unidentified by the program) saying, "We are opening up a famed--a
famed Paula Deen Family Kitchen there, y'all, in Foley, Alabama" and an animated sequence involving graphics resembling text of "OUR ECONOMY" with audio of the news presenter mentioned earlier, "Turning
now to our economy" (the full report: "That's right, y'all: you'll soon be able to
taste recipes hand-picked by world famous cooking celebrity Paula Deen
-- her new restaurant and retail store is coming to OAWA -- the opening
date has not been announced -- this will be Deen's sixth restaurant in
the south.").
- Some of the local news programming WALA-TV had on their main
broadcast
channel in recent times occasionally appeared to have had certain
members of their news operation (Byron Day and Lenise Ligon) each saying
a different name for their news operation ("FOX News 10" by the one
named Byron Day; "FOX News" by the one named Lenise Ligon) instead of
the one often used by other members of the operation during those times ("FOX
10 News" (note: the local news program that appeared on the channel
during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the ninth day of this
May ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") had each of them saying the
aforementioned names attributed to them earlier today whereas the local
news program that appeared on the
channel during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. that day ("FOX
10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one named Byron Day saying both
"FOX News 10" and "FOX 10 News" for one of its presentations).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel
for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the
Wednesday of the ninth day of this May ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.")
appeared to had audio of a certain announcer saying, "You're watching
Alabama's station of the year -- committed to you, this is FOX 10 News
at 10:00 p.m." and, "You're watching Alabama's station of the year --
committed to you -- FOX 10 News" with video of a certain object involving text of the words "Station of the Year" (along with texts of "Alabama Broadcasters Association", "ABBY 2018", and "WALA-TV" appearing beside some digital graphics resembling those words (note: a certain World Wide Web site related to a certain organization named the Alabama Broadcasters Association
appeared to have had this text regarding WALA-TV and a certain awards
program related to the association by then: "Broadcast professionals from across
Alabama attended the twelfth annual
Alabama Broadcasters Association’s 'Best in Broadcasting Awards',
otherwise known as the ABBYs, on Saturday, March 24th at the Hyatt
Regency in Hoover. A record number of entries were received and the
number of stations participating increased once again. WXFL-FM of
Florence was named Radio Station of the Year and WALA-TV of Mobile
received the TV Station of the Year honor.").
