News for Sunday, January 7th, 2018

  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Sunday of the seventh day of this January ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of the members of the news operation at WALA-TV usually set to be a news presenter for installments of it for Monday through Friday in recent times (Bob Grip) instead of the one usually set to be its news presenter for installments of it for Sunday in recent times (Lee Peck).
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV during the first half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. this Sunday ("NBC 15 News at 5") appeared to have had the members of the news operation at WPMI-TV usually set to be the news presenters for installments of it for Monday through Friday in recent times (Kym (Thurman) Anderson and Greg Peterson) instead of the one usually set to be its news presenter for installments of it for Sunday during those times (Andrea Ramey).  
  • A Twitter page attributed to a radio host for WAVH-FM named Sean Sullivan had a message attributed to him dated for the Friday of the fifth day of this January concerning a TV and radio program named "Guerrilla Politics" and WAVH-FM itself (note: the program was part of a live audio feed on a World Wide Web site connected to WAVH-FM on the Saturday of the sixth day of this January in a period of time (during the second half of its hour of 11:00 a.m.) when it was usually set to have a program named "Midday Mobile Replay" on Saturday in recent times).*
  • The broadcast operation for WAVH-FM was usually set to have a series of news reports involving the name of a certain news service ("CBS News") broadcast within the first five minutes of the first and second halves of certain hours on a regular basis in recent times before having a series of news reports not involving the names of any news service within the first five minutes of certain hours on the Saturday of the fifth day of this January (one of the news presenters (or "anchors") for the series of news reports not involving the name of any news service had said, "I'm Ann Cates" for one of those series of reports (note: a World Wide Web site attributed to a news service named "Westwood One News" had a listing for an "anchor" named "Ann Cates")). 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the sixth day of this January ("WKRG News 5 at 6") had audio of its news presenter (Ashley Knight) saying, "We first told you about this as breaking news this morning" after presenting one of its reports without explaining what was meant by that statement and her mentioning a certain "Chris Renkel" and "Conan Gasque" without explaining who or what they were before having her appearing to interact with a person in what appeared to had been a remote location separate from hers identified as "Conan Gasque" in a digital box while having her in a separate digital box (note: the local news program that appeared on the channel during the hour of 10:00 p.m. that Saturday ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had a video of a report involving the person identified as "Conan Gasque" without any other information attributed to him besides that name (the person appeared to had said, "In Atlanta, Conan Gasque, now back to the studio" near the end of it)).** 
(*one of the hosts for the program had used the last few seconds of it to welcome "new listeners" of it in places referenced as "Mobile" and "Birmingham")

(**update for Monday, January 9th, 2018: the local news program that appeared on the channel during the second half of the hour of 4:00 a.m. and the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. this Monday ("WKRG News 5 This Morning") had a news presenter of its own (Jessica Taloney) referring to a "Conan Gasque" of a "sister station" of WKRG-TV before having a video of another report involving the person identified by that name (note: the person appeared to had been holding a microphone with part of the name of a station related to WKRG-TV ("WIAT" for WIAT-TV in the city of Birmingham in the state of Alabama) while saying, "In Atlanta, Conan Gasque, now back to the studio" near the end of it***)).

(***WKRG-TV and WIAT-TV were members of a holding company named the Nexstar Media Group)
