News for Sunday, June 28th, 2015
- An animated introductory sequence for the most recent weather
reporter hired for the weather department at WKRG-TV (the name of the reporter was
Melissa Constanzer) did not have music
like the ones for their other weather reporters when it was broadcast on
their local morning news programs for Saturday and Sunday both this
past Saturday, June 27th, and this Sunday, June 28th (its only audio was
that of its announcer (Jay Gardner)
saying, "And now Melissa Constanzer with your First Alert Weather").
- The host of a local Sunday public affairs program for WGOK-AM titled
"Pass it On" (the name of the host was Robert Battles) used the
beginning of this Sunday's edition of it to make an
"editorial comment" about a news report for WKRG-TV
with parts of an interview conducted with him to clarify a part of the
interview in which he said he did not "give a damn" about a type of flag
based on various flags issued during the War Between the States with a
design originally used for a flag for a group of soldiers from Virginia to display in battles.
- According to a
weather reporter for WALA-TV on their local 9:00 p.m. news program this
past Saturday, June 27th ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m."), the person who presented the news for the program that day was in the
position of doing so for the very first time for that program or any of
their local news programs since she was usually only a news reporter for their local news programming by then (the weather reporter was complimenting her on her news presentations for the local 9:00 p.m. news program this past Saturday when they appeared together for its final segment that day; as for their names, Matt Barrentine was the name of the weather reporter while Rebekah Hoeger was
the name of the news reporter/news presenter).
