- A digital sub-channel was added to the broadcast operation for WFNA-TV sometime between the morning hours of this Friday and the morning hours of the Wednesday of the eleventh day of this October (its programming feed appeared similar to that of the digital sub-channel for WJTC-TV by the time of this writing (both of them appeared to have programming from a national TV programming service named Grit*)).
- The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV had a local news program immediately after having special news programming from their main provider of network programming (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) while it was still in progress during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. this Friday (the channel was usually set to have a local news program during this time period from Monday through Friday in recent times (usually under the name "WKRG News 5 at Noon")).**
- A World Wide Web site attributed to WKRG-TV had an article dated for this Friday concerning one of the news reporters for the local news operation at WKRG-TV (Joseph Blake (J. B.) Biunno) and one of the news reporters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Devan Coffaro) getting engaged to each other (the local news program for WKRG-TV mentioned in the previous paragraph had its news presenter (Bill Riales) saying that he had wanted to congratulate the reporter named Joseph Blake Biunno on the engagement before explaining it whereas the reporter was sitting next to him (note: the news presenter had referred to WALA-TV as "the FOX affiliate here in Mobile" while telling its audience they may recognize the reporter named Devan Coffaro as a reporter for such an affiliate).***
(*the channel for WJTC-TV usually appeared to have programming from the service before the addition of the channel for WFNA-TV)
(**the news presenter for the program (Bill Riales) had referred to it as an "abbreviated" version of it)
