- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Monday of the second day of this October ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") had somber music while one of its news presenters promoted a report related to a certain massacre in the city of Las Vegas in the state of Nevada for the program a few seconds before some of the breaks in its broadcast in addition to having music normally used in its broadcasts in recent times while one of its news presenters promoted a report related to a different subject a few seconds before some of its other breaks (the installment of the program that appeared on the channel during that hour this Tuesday had the same somber music while one of its news presenters promoted another report related to the massacre for the program few seconds before at least one of its breaks).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this Tuesday ("WKRG News 5 at 10") had a news reporter for their local news operation (Mary Smith) saying they did not have permission to show a certain video for a report she was doing about the video (she did not explain why, even though they (and a World Wide Web site attributed to them) had reports about the same video explaining why they did not have it for their broadcasts through the channel in recent times) whereas the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. this Tuesday ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have the video for its own report about it.
- One of the news reporters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Kati Weis) and one of the hosts for some of the local programming they had other than news programming in recent times (Joe Emer of "Studio 10" (a program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles) and "First and 10" (a program dedicated to football teams for high schools in the broadcast area of WALA-TV) were the news presenters for the installment of the local news program mentioned in the first paragraph from the top of this report broadcast this past Monday instead of their regular news presenters (Bob Grip* and Lenise Ligon**).
- The host for the local TV programs mentioned in the previous paragraph was also the news presenter for the local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for their station during the hour of 9:00 p.m. ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") and the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") both this Tuesday and this past Monday.
- The news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. this past Monday had the member of their broadcast operation mentioned in the previous paragraph referring to its weather reporter (Jason Smith) only by his surname ("Smith") while commenting about a news report he had just presented in one of its segments.
