News for Thursday, October 12th, 2017

  • A Facebook page attributed to WKRG-TV appeared to have had live video of a discussion about the sport of football between a sports reporter for the local news operation at WKRG-TV (Randy Patrick Setterstrom) and a person specialized in analyzing the sport of football for their main provider of network programming (Aaron Taylor of the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) on the Tuesday of the tenth day of this October.
  • A digital publication (specifically its forty-first page) dated for the Tuesday of the tenth day of this October for a company specialized in publishing based in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama named Lagniappe had an advertisement about the programming feed for WZEW-FM possibly having eight hours of "coverage" of a plan to hold a certain type of football game involving the football teams for the University of Alabama and the University of Arkansas on the Saturday of the fourteenth day of this October.
    • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the fifth day of this October ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") had one of its news presenters (Joe Emer**) attributing a news report to a certain person ("Omar Jimenez") without saying whether the person was part of their local news operation or not before having video of the report itself (the person to whom he was referring had ended the report as if he were a member of the operation ("In Las Vegas, I'm Omar Jimenez reporting for FOX 10 News")).
(*the local news program that appeared on the channel during the hour of 10:00 p.m. afterwards ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") had the same news presenters presenting reports about the videos along with portions of them))

(**he was not a regular news presenter for the program by then)
