News for Sunday, October 8th, 2017

  • A World Wide Web site attributed to WPMI-TV had an article dated for this Sunday about a flood trapping a news reporter for their local news operation (Muriel Bailey).
  • The main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV had a local news program at a time when it was usually set to have a national news program from their main provider of network programming ("Sunday Today" from the National Broadcasting Company (NBC)) on Sunday mornings in recent times (the hour of 7:00 a.m.) this Sunday.
  • The main broadcast channel for WFNA-TV* and the broadcast frequencies for WAVH-FM and WXQW-AM each had the same programming as the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during some of the morning hours for this Sunday (it was usually programming pertaining to the tropical cyclone mentioned in the second paragraph from the top of this report (A Facebook page attributed to WAVH-FM had a message attributed to its administration dated for the Saturday of the seventh day of this October about the idea of WAVH-FM having such programming whereas a Twitter page attributed to them had a message dated for this Sunday about their continuing to have such programming).
  • The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channels for WKRG-TV, WALA-TV, and WPMI-TV between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. this Sunday had certain members of their news operations (the news presenter or news presenters each of them had (Kym Thurman and Greg Peterson on the one for WPMI-TV; Bob Grip** on the one for WALA-TV; Mel Showers and Rose Ann Haven*** on the one for WKRG-TV) and the weather reporter for the one that appeared on the channel for WKRG-TV (Alan Sealls)) who were usually only part of some of the local news programmings they had for Monday through Friday in the same positions they had for those programs in recent times.****
(*WFNA-TV and WKRG-TV were related to each other due to their being members of a holding company named the Nexstar Media Group)

(**A Facebook page attributed to WALA-TV appeared to have had live video of his saying they would have a "special edition" of the program that appeared on their main broadcast channel before the time it did (the hour of 9:00 p.m.) earlier this Sunday)

(***she had referred to the program as a "special edition" after introducing her self on it)

(****the member of the news operation at WALA-TV who was usually the news presenter for the local news programming they had on their main broadcast channel on Sunday evenings in recent times (Lee Peck) was one the reporters for the local news programming it had this Sunday evening)
