News for Sunday, October 15th, 2017 (amended)

    (note: an update to one of the paragraphs for this report was added below that very paragraph)
    • A Facebook page attributed to a news reporter for the local news operation at WPMI-TV named Nicole Fierro had a message attributed to her dated for the Wednesday of the eleventh day of this October stating that some colleagues of hers had nominated her for a certain type of honor along with some images related to it.
    • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV around the middle of the hour of 6:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the fourteenth day of this October ("WKRG News 5 at 6") had its news presenter (Ashley Knight) presenting a report of a news reporter of theirs named Hayley Minogue "skydiving" along with video related to it
    • The broadcast frequency for WDLT-FM had a local radio program dedicated to discussing news and public affairs named "In Touch Gulf Coast" at a time when it usually had music programming on Sunday in recent times (the first half of the hour of 6:00 a.m.) whereas it had such programming at a time when it usually had this program named "In Touch Gulf Coast" on Sunday in recent times this Sunday (the second half of the hour of 5:00 a.m.).
    • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the fourteenth day of this October ("WKRG News 5 at 10") and the one that appeared on the channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. this Sunday ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") had their respective news presenters (Ashley Knight on the one for WKRG-TV; Lee Peck on the one for WALA-TV) presenting reports of a former member of their respective broadcast operations (Katherine (Katie) Hammond) being honored with a wheelchair named after her in a game of basketball involving such chairs (the plan to honor her was mentioned on a local TV program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV on the Thursday of the twelfth day of this October ("Studio 10") as part of a discussion concerning one of the teams for the game (the Mobile Patriots) and as part of at least one report concerning them in some of the local news programming for WKRG-TV on the Friday of the thirteenth day of this October).
