News for Monday, October 30th, 2017

  • A local TV program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 a.m. this Monday ("Studio 10") had an interview with a former sports reporter for the news operation at WALA-TV (Rob Lehocky).
  • The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channels for WKRG-TV and WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. this Monday ("WKRG News 5 at 5" and "FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") each appeared to have had live videos of one of their weather reporters (Alan Sealls and Jason Smith respectively*) doing reports related to weather from the grounds of a fair in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama named the Greater Gulf State Fair.**
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV during the first half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Sunday of the twenty-ninth day of this October ("NBC 15 News at 5 [p.m.]") had video of its news presenter (Andrea Ramey) appearing to express hatred for what its weather reporter (Jake Dunne) had appeared to say to her concerning a non-standard form of time ("daylight-saving time") usually followed in the United States on a yearly basis (this is what the weather reporter appeared to tell her, "Next weekend, daylight-saving time comes to an end, so we fall back one hour, which means our sunset, a week from today, Andrea, right around five o'clock, so it'll be dark now" after presenting a report related to weather; as for how she appeared to express hatred toward what he had just said, she was saying, "Let's just get rid of that. Let's just get rid of that; I say I hate that time of year when it's dark so early" (he appeared to agree with her afterwards before appearing to suggest that they "put it up to a vote" after appearing to tell her that "many communities are thinking about getting rid of the time change").
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. this Monday ("WKRG News 5 at 6") appeared to have some video for a news report for the news operation of their main provider of network programming (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) with audio of a member of their own news operation (Jessica Taloney***) doing her own version of the report without any references to the provider or its news operation between videos of her used to introduce it and conclude it that also did not have any references to the provider or its news operation (note: the local news program that appeared on the channel during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. this Monday ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") had video of the member saying the other program would have a "story" that "every parent and teacher will want to see" in reference to the subject of the report narrated by her whereas the program itself had audio of one of its news presenters (Mel Showers) before one of its breaks saying sounding as if he were promoting the report as one that "anyone with children at home needs to hear" before its broadcast on the program after the break.
    (*both of them were usually called "chief meteorologist" by other members of their respective news operations in some of the other news programmings they had in recent times)

    (**the local news programs that appeared on the channel for WKRG-TV during the first and second halves of the hour of 6:00 p.m. also appeared to have live videos of the weather reporter named Alan Sealls doing reports related to weather from the grounds of this fair)

    (***she was usually a news presenter for the local news program that was usually set to appear on the channel during the second half of the hour of 4:00 a.m. and the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from Monday through Friday in recent times ("WKRG News 5 This Morning"))
