- The main broadcast channel WALA-TV did not have local news programming
over the course of an hour in accordance with their
regular programming plan for Sunday evenings this Sunday (it had local news
programming between 10:23 p.m. and 10:53 p.m. after having programming about a live championship football game (the National Football Conference (NFC) Championship) and a dramatic TV program ("The X Files") from their main provider of
network programming (the FOX Broadcasting Company) during the time period in which it usually had local news programming on Sunday in recent times (9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.).
- WALA-TV had animated graphics with the words "breaking news" at the
beginning of their local news programming for this Sunday evening instead of
the animated graphics that were normally used at the beginning of new
editions of their regular local news programs in recent times.
- The main broadcast channels for WFGX-TV and WJTC-TV had the
same edition of the same TV program during the same time period today
(the name of the program was "Ring of Honor Wrestling"; the time period was 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m).*
*both WFGX-TV and WJTC-TV were members of the same company (the
Sinclair Broadcast Group); "Ring of Honor Wrestling" was part of the same company also).
