- According to the official World Wide Web site for an organization set to hold a football game in Mobile under the name "Senior Bowl" on the 30th day of January (a Saturday), a national cable TV and satellite TV programming service named ESPNU was set to have special programming about practices for the game next Wednesday (the 27th day of this January) and Thursday (the 28th day of this January).
- According to the official Facebook page for Alabama Public Radio and the official Facebook page for their radio station in southwest Alabama (WHIL-FM), the programming feed for all of their stations was set to have Friday editions of a national radio program titled "Fresh Air" on a weekly basis beginning this Friday (the 22nd day of this January) and set to have the national radio program "This American Life" every Saturday instead of every Friday beginning this Saturday (the 23rd day of this January).
- A former news presenter for WEAR-TV named Mollye Barrows and a former news presenter for WALA-TV named April Douglas had helped promote certain businesses in southwest Alabama for a series of videos under the name "Marketplace 5" for WKRG-TV's main broadcast channel in recent times (the channel occasionally had one of the videos immediately after the end of the a local news program for WKRG-TV that was usually part of its programming between 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. from Monday through Friday in recent times (the name of the program was "WKRG News 5 at Noon")).*
