I was surprised by what one of the news presenters for WALA-TV had said on one of their local news programs recently (Renee Dials of "FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m." this past Sunday, January 3rd) since she said it very awkwardly ("the reporter has that story") and I could not remember ever hearing a news presenter refer to a news reporter by only the word "reporter" while introducing a news report narrated by the reporter he or she was referencing (in the case of the news presenter named Renee Dials, she was referring to a reporter for KQDS-TV in Duluth, Minnesota named Lena Takada).
As for what the other news presenter for WALA-TV said on one of their other local news programs recently (Bob Grip of "FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m." this past Monday, January 4th), it did not really surprise me since he and many other news broadcasters had used their respective stations' program to share personal feelings about news over the course of history; whether they were their own feelings or not (in the case of what the news presenter named Bob Grip said that did not surprise me recently, this is what he said while introducing a news report about new jobs in Mobile: "FOX 10 News is committed to helping job-seekers and helping Mobile's economy grow").
from one of the authors of a former World Wide Web site named Examiner.com, specifically two sections of it that were part of its existence: "Mobile (Alabama) TV Examiner" and "Mobile (Alabama) Radio Examiner" (note: this site could have certain features that could be seen without certain programs blocking them; each period of time mentioned on this site without any indication of the time zone to which it applied was a period of time for the Central time zone of the United States)
