News for Thursday, January 21st, 2016
- The sports reporter for the local news operation at WALA-TV used part of this past Monday's edition of their local 10:00 p.m. news program ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m." on the 18th day of this January) to tell viewers and/or listeners of the program how they could contact him with ideas for sports reports by telephone, electronic mail, Facebook, and Twitter (the name of the sports reporter was Michael Brannon).
- Today's edition of WKRG-TV's local 9:00 a.m. news program ("WKRG News 5 at 9") did not have a segment dedicated to news either about the World Wide Web or news found on the World Wide Web like most of its previous editions (the segments were usually called "Around the Web and Around the World"). As for what it had in place of such a segment, it had another weather report in addition to two others that were part of its broadcast.
- One of the news presenters for the local news operation at WKRG-TV
who usually only presented news for their local 5:00 p.m. news program
("WKRG News 5 at 5") from Monday through Friday had substituted for its
other news presenter for their local 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. news
programs today ("WKRG News 5 at Noon" was the name of the 12:00 p.m. news program; the
name of the person who was substituting was Peter Albrecht; the name of the person for whom he was substituting was Devon Walsh)
