News for Wednesday, January 13th, 2016
- According to today's edition of WKRG-TV's local news program for the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. ("WKRG News 5 This Morning"),
they had recently acquired new cameras ("HD (sky) cameras") for broadcasting live
aerial videos of certain parts of their local broadcast area for their
local news programming (the news presenter and weather reporter for
today's edition of the program (Bill Riales and Melissa Constanzer respectively) each said one of the cameras was located at the GulfQuest National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico in the down-town area of Mobile while presenting video from it on that edition of the program).
- The main broadcast channel for WALA-TV did not have 90 minutes of local
news programming with commercial and
promotional advertisements within a specific time period in accordance
with their regular programming plan for Monday through Friday this past
Tuesday (the 12th day of this January). It still had such programming
during their regular time
period for it (9:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) with the exception of its last
few segments being out of that time period (between 10:30 p.m. and 10:33
p.m.), but only for about 60 minutes in total (from about 9:33 p.m.
until 10:33 p.m.) due to its network programming about a speech by the
president of the United States (the name of the president was Barack
Obama; as for the name of the speech, it was the "State of the Union Address").
- The main broadcast channel for WFGX-TV was set to have programming about a basketball game between two teams representing two different high schools in their local broadcast area this past Tuesday (the 12th day of this January) during the last 90 minutes of a time period in which it usually had programming from a national TV programming service named MyNetworkTV from Monday through Friday (7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.) before having two episodes of the program provided by the service that day ("The Walking Dead") later that same day (9:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.) after a local news program from their companion station ("Channel 3 News at 9 on WFGX" from WEAR-TV). As for what the channel was set to have during the first 30 minutes of that time period, it was set to have an edition of a syndicated entertainment news program that was usually set to be part of its programming between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday ("Extra").
