- A World Wide Web site attributed to WALA-TV had a video about a plan to have a "casting call" for folks between age groups associated with kindergarten and grades one through five to present weather reports for some of the local news programs for WALA-TV later this July (some messages about this plan were also posted onto a Facebook page attributed to WALA-TV).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. this past Friday on the seventh day of this July ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") had reports about some members of their local news operation (a weather reporter named Jason Smith and a news presenter named Sarah Wall) and either one or some of their respective children (the report about the weather reporter and two of his children involved capturing fish whereas the one about the news presenter and one of her children involved a baseball game).
- The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV had an animated sequence normally used for introducing weather reports from a former member of their local news operation (Melissa Constanzer) in recent times (with audio of a professional announcer (Jay Gardner) saying, "Now, Melissa Constanzer with First Alert Weather") precede a weather report by one of its current members (Thomas Geboy) during its presentation of a local news segment between parts of its presentation of a national TV program from their main provider of network programming ("CBS This Morning Saturday" from the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) this Saturday (this is what he said immediately after the sequence: "Well, I'm Thomas Geboy today").
