- WKRG-TV had some local news programming supersede some special news programming from their main provider of network programming (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) on their main broadcast channel during one of its regular time periods for having local news programming from Monday through Friday in recent times this Thursday (the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m.).*
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this past Tuesday on the eleventh day of this July ("WKRG News 5 at 10") had one of the weather reporters for their local news operation (Alan Sealls) attribute a still image of some clouds to a person he had simply called one of their "behind the scenes" persons (Al Brown).
- The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. this past Wednesday on the twelfth day of this July ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m." and "FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m." respectively) each had their regular news presenters (Bob Grip and Lenise Ligon) interacting with a different member of the local news operation for TV station located in the city of Birmingham in central Alabama (WBRC-TV) doing what appeared to be live news reports from a different remote location (John Huddleston for the first program; Josh Gauntt for the second one).**
(**the news presenter named Lenise Ligon had referred to WBRC-TV as a "sister station" on the program for the hour of 5:00 p.m.; even though both they and WALA-TV were members of separate holding (or "parent") companies (the Meredith Corporation for WALA-TV; Raycom Media for WBRC-TV); the reporter named Josh Gauntt had referred to WALA-TV by a brand name for WBRC-TV ("FOX 6") before quickly referring to them by one of their actual brand names ("FOX 10").
