- Some of the local news programming broadcast by WKRG-TV since this past Friday had some reports about a plan for their local news operation to have a special program about a debate between candidates for the position of mayor of the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama on the Monday of the fourteenth day of August for this calendar year.
- The news presenter for the local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. this Saturday (Candace Murphy of "FOX 10 News at 6:00 a.m." and "FOX 10 News at 7:00 a.m.") had used the last segment of the one that appeared on the channel during the hour of 7:00 a.m. to say this Saturday was her last day in her role of news presenter for their programming on Saturday and Sunday mornings and that she had accepted a full-time ("anchoring") position in the city of Columbia in the state of South Carolina (she said she would begin "continuing" her career in journalism there "in a few weeks").*
- The main broadcast channel for WEAR-TV had a graphic normally used for displaying scrolls of texts over their local news programs in recent times over a paid commercial program (or "infomercial") without any scrolls of texts during the first ten minutes of the hour of 5:00 p.m. this Saturday (it had appeared on the channel over a sports program from their main provider of network programming (the American Broadcasting Company (ABC)) earlier this Saturday with the word "breaking" appearing stationary beside some scrolls of text related to reports of a fire at a chemical facility in their local broadcast area (it also had the "breaking" appearing stationary when it appeared without any scrolls of texts over the paid commercial program).
(*some static images of her and other members of the local news operation at WALA-TV appeared in the segment with her announcements within some graphics displayed over its entire video area)
