Commentary: Unobjective, unsubtle, and unrestrained news broadcasts
- Some of the words used by one of the news presenters for the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this past Wednesday on the fifth day of this July (Mel Showers on "WKRG News 5 at 10") sounded as if they were forced upon him in addition to their being very unsubtle and unobjective ("A police officer assassinated while protecting citizens celebrating America's birthday and freedom").
- I was reminded of a certain computer game and a new national TV program that might be broadcast by WKRG-TV and other stations affiliated with the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) this Sunday on the ninth day of this July after hearing the other news presenter for the local news program program mentioned in the previous paragraph (Rose Ann Haven) mention the name of a report set to appear in a future installment of the news program due to its name being very similar to that of the game and the TV program (she said it was called "Candy Rush").
- I would had not used part of a news program for a local news or radio station to say that I and other
members of the station had created a "wanted poster" about a fugitive I
had just talked about on the program for other persons to share on
"social media" if I were the news presenter for the local news program
that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the hour of 12:00 p.m. this Thursday (Devon Walsh of "WKRG News 5 at Noon"). She sounded as if their jobs were to be professional advocates working for folks in charge of maintaining civility in their local broadcast area in addition to being news broadcasters.
