- The main broadcast channel for WALA-TV had what appeared to be a special program about a member of their local news operation (a news presenter and a news reporter named Renee Dials) retiring from the operation this past Friday on the thirtieth day of June for this calendar year between the local news programs that were part of its programming between the first half of the hour of 9:00 p.m. ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.")* and the end of the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") that day.
- The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV had an advertisement about a plan to have two episodes of a TV program named "The Andy Griffith Show" appear on the main broadcast channel for WFNA-TV (their companion station*) during the hour of 6:00 a.m. from Monday through Friday on a regular basis beginning with the Monday of the third day of this July (the channel was usually set to have video of a local radio program ("The Uncle Henry Show" for WNTM-AM) during that time period from Monday through Friday in recent times).
- The live video stream normally used for streaming local news programming for the main broadcast channel of WALA-TV in recent times had video of the programming feed for a national cable TV and satellite TV programming service named the FOX News Channel instead of some of the local news programming they had on the channel between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. this past Friday on the thirtieth day of June for this calendar year (it also had a graphic with the words :"Xfinity", "Message from: Service Alert", "You are eligible for an equipment update - on us. Tune to channel 1995 to order your new equipment and learn more", "Remind Me Later", and "Tune Now").
- A Facebook page attributed to a member of the local news operation for WKRG-TV who usually presented weather reports for their local news programs for Monday through Friday evenings in recent times (Alan Sealls) had a message attributed to him about a member of the operation who usually did weather reports for their local news program for Saturday mornings (specifically for the hour of 5:00 on Saturday mornings) in recent times (Melissa Constanzer for "WKRG News 5 This Morning: Saturday") along with video of what appeared to be a tribute to her on the local news program that appeared on their main broadcast channel during the second half of the hour of 6:30 p.m. this past Friday ("WKRG News 5 at 6:30").
(*it usually appeared on the channel for the entire hour before that Friday)
(**WKRG-TV and WFNA-TV were members of the same holding (or "parent") company: the Nexstar Media Group)
