• WKRG-TV had a report about some of the history of Mobile from between the years 1955 and 2015 on today's edition of their local news program for Saturday mornings ("WKRG News 5 This Morning: Saturday") in honor of the 60th anniversary of their first regular broadcast day on the Saturday of September 5th this year (as of this writing, the report is not available in any form on the official World Wide Web site for WKRG-TV).

• A reporter for WPMI-TV (Christian Jennings) was in New Orleans, Louisiana, doing reports about the president of the United States (Barack Obama) visiting New Orleans to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the day that a tropical cyclone named "Katrina" affected New Orleans and other cities near the Gulf of Mexico for their local news programming this past Thursday, August 27th, (the anniversary was this Saturday).
