News for Thursday, April 12th, 2018

  • Some Facebook pages related to WKRG-TV and WFNA-TV each appeared to have had a live video of certain persons related to their broadcast operations either discussing, witnessing, or participating in a certain electronic game (named HQ Trivia) on the Wednesday of the eleventh day of this April (note: WFNA-TV was referenced as "The Gulf Coast CW" in the video (note #2: WKRG-TV and WFNA-TV were related to each other due to their being members of a company named the Nexstar Media Group)).
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the second half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of the tenth day of this April ("WKRG News 5 at 6:30"*) appeared to have one of its news presenters (Peter Albrecht) saying, "By the way, happy birthday" to one of its reporters (a sports reporter named Randy Patrick Setterstrom) and the reporter saying, "Thank you very much" immediately afterwards near the end of one of its segments (note: the segment was related to sports).
  • A World Wide Web site named Media Matters appeared to have had a hyperlink to a certain video for WEAR-TV for a report concerning its content and a certain company in which WEAR-TV (and WPMI-TV, WJTC-TV, and WFGX-TV) was one of its members (the Sinclair Broadcast Group).
  • Some of the local news programming broadcast on the Tuesday of the tenth day of this April appeared to have had some reports of the host of a local TV program named "Tattoo Chat"**(Chassity Ebbole) having filed a lawsuit against the government of the city of Mobile in recent times (note #1: the first four news programs mentioned below this paragraph each had such a report (note #2: they did not have any mention of the program named "Tattoo Chat")).
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of the tenth day of this April ("WKRG News 5 at 6") appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Peter Albrecht) presenting a report of a certain event involving a certain member of another TV station in their local broadcast area without any mention of the station (WHBR-TV) or his position with them (general manager) other than the name often used in reference in him by the station (David Mayo).
  • The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. and the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of the tenth day of this April ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.", "FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.", and "FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m." respectively) each appeared to have had a video involving audio of an announcer saying, "You're watching Alabama's station of the year -- committed to you, FOX 10 News" and a certain object with text of "Alabama Broadcasters Association", "ABBY 2018 Station of the Year", and "WALA-TV" at the beginnings of one of their segments.***
(*this appeared to had been the last part of the program to appear on the channel in that period of time that day other than a certain animated sequence often used for the last parts of its broadcasts and those of other local news programs for the channel in recent times in spite of the aforementioned news presenter saying, "We'll be right back" near the end of it).

(**the program was usually listed by World Wide Web sites such as Zap2it and TitanTV as being part of the programming of the main broadcast channel for WJTC-TV on a weekly basis in recent times (usually for the first half of the hour of 3:00 for Sunday mornings)).

(***the program that appeared on the channel during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the eleventh day of this April ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to have had a video with a similar announcement at the beginning of a segment it had after one of its breaks from appearing on the channel in that period of time that day ("You're watching Alabama's station of the year -- committed to you -- this is FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.")).
