- A video file of a special TV program for about tropical cyclones that was set to appear on the main broadcast channels for WPMI-TV and WJTC-TV this past Wednesday on the first day of this June was uploaded onto the official World Wide Web site for WPMI-TV (the name of the program was "Surviving the Storm").
- Some of the weather reporters for WKRG-TV had used some of their local news programming for this calendar week to promote a new special TV program about tropical cyclones ("Hurricane Hazard: Get Ready") set to appear on their main broadcast channel next Monday on the sixth day of this June between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. (it was usually set to have network programming from the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) during that time period on a daily basis in recent times).
- One of the presenters on the local news program WKRG-TV had on
their
main broadcast channel between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. this Friday (Randy Patrick Setterstrom on "WKRG News 5 at 6") used
part of its broadcast to say that a former radio announcer from Mobile
named Dick Hilton had died this Friday (he also said the announcer had
worked for two radio stations in Mobile formerly known as WKRG-FM and
WKRG-AM and one that no longer exists named WABB-AM as part of the
announcement).*
(*as of this writing, the radio station formerly known as WKRG-FM is now known as
WMXC-FM whereas the one formerly known as WKRG-AM is now known as
WNTM-AM).
