News for Monday, June 20th, 2016 (amended)
- WKRG-TV had the voice of an announcer not normally used in their local news programming in recent times in the local news programming they had during the evening hours of this past Saturday and Sunday on the eighteenth and nineteenth days of this June respectively (the announcer was heard a few seconds before some of the breaks for some of the programming saying, "You're watching WKRG News 5: Voted 'Best News Operation' by the Associated Press and voted 'Station of the Year' by the Alabama Broadcasters Association. We are coverage you can count on".)
- The news presenters on the local news programs WALA-TV had on the main broadcast channel during the morning and evening hours of this past Sunday (Rebekah Hoeger on "FOX 10 News in the Morning" and Lee Peck on "FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") had used their respective program to encourage members of their audiences to use the official Facebook page for their broadcast operation to "tag" male parents they may personally know and post images of them for the possibility of having them acknowledged and shown on the programs in honor of that day having been declared a national holiday (named Father's Day) dedicated to male parents (the news presenter on the local news program WALA-TV had in the morning that day had identified a person she said was her "father" from one of the images shown on the program in honor of the holiday that day).
- The news presenter on the local news program WKRG-TV had in their
programming between the evening hours of 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. this past Sunday (Ashley Knight on "WKRG News 5 at 10") used
part of its broadcast to greet a whom she called her "dad" while presenting a report related
to the declaration mentioned in the previous paragraph of this report (she said, "Hi,
Dad").
