- The official Facebook page for WALA-TV was set to have a live video stream of a live celebration of the new calendar year (2017) in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama ("MoonPie Over Mobile") around the time the year was set to begin (the beginning of the hour of 12:00 a.m. this Sunday).
- The main broadcast channel for WALA-TV was set to begin having a recorded begin of a special network program from their main provider of network programming ("Pitbull's New Year's Revolution" from the FOX Broadcasting Company) one hour after the provider began providing it live this past Saturday on the thirty-first day of this December (the program was provided live from the beginning of the hour of 10:00 p.m. and the second half of the hour of 11:30 p.m.).
- According to the guides to the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV from Zap2it and TitanTV,
the channel was set to have two editions of two syndicated programs that were usually part of its regular programming plan for Monday through Friday in recent times (a comedic program named "The Big Bang Theory" for the hour of 3:00 p.m.; two editions of a syndicated gaming program named "Family Feud" for the hour the hour of 4:00
p.m.) during time periods in which they were not usually set to be part of its programming (this past Saturday on the thirty-first day of this past December between the second half of the hour of 12:00 a.m. and the
second half of the hour of 2:00 a.m. in the order in which they were listed (specifically between
thirty-seven minutes after 12:00 a.m. and thirty-seven minutes after
2:00 a.m (the channel was usually set to have paid commercial
programs during this time period on Saturday in recent times)).
