News for Friday, January 27th, 2017

- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast
channel for WKRG-TV during the second half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. this
past Thursday on the twenty-sixth day of this January ("WKRG News 5 at
6:30") had video of a member of their local news operation (Ashley Knight) suggesting that listeners of her report for the video who "haven't heard"
of a resident of Mobile whom she called "Mobile's famed renaissance man"
to do their selves "a favor" and "look him up".
- The first segment of the local news program that appeared on the main
broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00
p.m. this past Thursday ("WKRG News 5 at 10") began with audio of one
of its news presenters (Rose Ann Haven) "breaking news" while an
animated sequence normally used for "breaking news" in their programming
in recent time appeared instead of a "preview" of reports planned for its
broadcast (its broadcasts usually began with such previews in recent
times before then).
