• The member of the local news operation at WPMI-TV who was usually the weather reporter for their local news programs for Saturday and Sunday evenings in recent times (Jake Dunne) was the weather reporter for their morning and midday news programs for Monday through Friday ("Local 15 Today" and "Local 15 News at Noon") since this past Wednesday on the fourth day of this January while the one who was usually their weather reporter before then (Kelly Foster) was their news presenter instead.

• The local news program that appeared on their main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this past Wednesday ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") had an abrupt break in its broadcast after one of its news presenters (Bob Grip) used one of its segments to tell its audience the battery in the microphone for its weather reporter (Jason Smith) had died and that they "would be right back [after the break]" (he also said the reason for the death was due to the weather reporter talking into the microphone so much).
