- The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV recently had a promotional video for their local news program for the second half of the hour of 4:00 a.m. and the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. for Monday through Friday ("WKRG News 5 This Morning") with audio of the one of the news presenters for the program (Bill Riales) talking about a person he called "Jim" having a resolution for this calendar year to "wake up early every morning to exercise" as video of the person (with what appeared to be perspiration on his face) using a treadmill appeared before saying, "Lucky for Jim, 'News 5 This Morning' comes on every morning at 4:30*' " and, "We've got you covered, Jim".
- The promotional video for WKRG-TV mentioned in the previous paragraph usually appeared on their main broadcast channel with another one involving a professional announcer (Jeff Davis) posing a question for members of its audience about whether they can be home to watch their local news program for the first half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. ("WKRG News 5 at 6") from Monday through Friday or not before promoting the one for other half of that hour ("WKRG News 5 at 6:30"**) with descriptions of its presenters and a slogan ("More news, more convenience. That's coverage you can count on").
- The guides to the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV from Zap2it, TitanTV, and TV Guide had listings for four syndicated (informational) programs that were not usually part of their regular programming plans for Monday through Friday in recent times ("Elizabeth Stanton's Great Big World", "Zoo Clues", "Missing", and "Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures") in time periods normally used for two syndicated programs that were usually part of those plans in recent times ("The Real" (a discussion program) during the hour of 10:00 a.m. and "The People's Court" (a courtroom program) during the hour of 11:00 a.m.) this Friday.
(**the program was added to their regular programming plan for Monday through Friday the same day the change to the local news program for Monday through Friday mentioned above took effect)
