News for Thursday, January 12th, 2017
- The weather reporter and news presenter for the local news operation at WPMI-TV who usually co-hosted a local entertainment and lifestyle program of theirs since it became part of their programming (and that of their companion station (WJTC-TV)) last September (Kelly Foster for "Gulf Coast Today") was not part of its broadcasts this past Monday and Tuesday (the ninth and tenth days of this January) in addition to this Thursday while other members of their local news operation were place of her (including a news reporter of theirs named Katie Herrera for its broadcasts this past Monday and Tuesday and a weather reporter of theirs named Jake Dunne this Thursday).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. this Thursday had a poster with a
logo of theirs not normally used in their programming (it was similar to
the one for a software application of theirs named the "FOX10 FloatTracker",
except it had the names "Mobile" and "Pensacola" underneath the name
"FOX10") behind one of the weather reporters for their local news
operation (Jason Smith) as he was doing weather reports from the
interior of a restaurant in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama (the
poster was about a plan to hold a cooking competition in Mobile under
the name "Downtown Cajun Cook-off" (WALA-TV was one of the sponsors
of this plan)).
- The main broadcast channel for WALA-TV had less local news
programming for the hour of 9:00 p.m. and the first half of the hour of
10:00 p.m. this past Tuesday on the tenth day of this January than on
previous Tuesdays in recent times after having special programming
(including a program about a live speech by the president of the United
States (Barack Obama) and an episode of a dramatic TV program named "Bones")
from their provider of network programming (the FOX Broadcasting Company) for much of the hour of 9:00 p.m. (the channel usually did not
have programming from the service during the hour of 9:00 p.m.; as for when it had
the local news programming, it was between 9:54 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.)).
