- The news presenter for the local news program that appeared on the
main
broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 7:00
a.m. this Sunday (Rebekah Hoeger on "FOX 10 News in the Morning") used
the first segment of its broadcast for the hour of 6:00 a.m. to tell its
audience they were watching "their only local news at 6 a.m." in spite
of the main broadcast channels for WKRG-TV and WEAR-TV having other
local news programs ("WKRG News 5 This Morning: Sunday" and "3 in the
Morning:
Sunday") at the same time (she later said, "You're watching your most
local news at 7 a.m." in the first segment of its broadcast for the hour
of 7:00 a.m. while the channel for WKRG-TV still had the same news
program that was part of its programming during the hour of 6:00 a.m.).
- Some of the presenters for some of the local TV programs that appeared
on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV this calendar week (including local
news programs of theirs and a program of theirs dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles ("Studio 10"))
had used their respective programs to promote a plan for the channel to
have a special program (under the name "History in the Making") about
plans to hold a football game between the football teams for the
University of Alabama and Clemson University next Monday on the ninth
day of this January during part of a time period normally used for one of those programs in recent times ("FOX 10 News at
9:00 p.m." for the hour 9:00 p.m. (the special program was set to appear on the channel in place of this one about seven minutes after the second half of the hour and end about seven minutes after the start of the next hour (the hour of 10:00 p.m.).*
(*the name "History in the Making" was normally used in an animated sequence normally used in reports about the plan involving
the aforementioned teams on some of the locals news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV earlier this calendar week)
