Commentary: No name for person referenced in news presentation
I was disappointed in the news presenter for WPMI-TV's local midday news
program (Kelly Jones of "Local 15 News at Noon") not mentioning the
forename and surname for the most president of Nintendo Company Limited
on last Monday's edition of the program on July 13th while presenting
news about his death (his forename was Satoru; his surname was Iwata).
If the reason for this was fear of her mispronouncing the names, she or
another member of WPMI-TV could have done some research into how the
names were usually pronounced by others folks and how this recent
president would have pronounced them if he were still alive.
