News for Thursday, July 23rd, 2015 (amended)
- The news presenters for WALA-TV's local 5:00 p.m. news program (Bob Grip and Lenise Ligon) recently started presenting half of its broadcasts apart from each other on a regular basis (Bob Grip usually took Lenise Ligon's place by
the middle of those broadcasts). They used to present both halves of its broadcasts together on a regular basis before then.
- According to a promotional advertisement for
WALA-TV that appeared on their main broadcast channel today, they were
set to begin having local news programming on Saturday and Sunday
mornings on a regular basis this August, specifically the Saturday of
August 8th (the advertisement had the time period for when they would
have such programming on Saturday and Sunday mornings: 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.).
(amendment note: the paragraph about WALA-TV being set to have local news programming on Saturday and Sunday mornings was amended to improve its structure and to add the sentence about the time period in which WALA-TV would have such programming on Saturday and Sunday mornings)
