• One of the news presenters on the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the fourth day of this May (Rose Ann Haven on "WKRG News 5 at 10") said their local news operation was a "proud sponsor" of a certain fundraiser ("Cocktails with the Critters") she had mentioned in a report about it seconds earlier (she said it was to help to help a "sea lab" on an island south of the county of Mobile named Dauphin Island).

• Some parts of the set normally used for the local news programs at WALA-TV in recent times were used for an installment of a program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles ("Studio 10") that appeared on their main broadcast channel this Monday (the parts included a group of monitors displaying single images and a separate monitor on a part of the set normally used for presenting weather reports for the news programs). 

• The hosts for the installment of the local entertainment and lifestyle program mentioned in the previous paragraph (Joe Emer and Michael White) made fun of the fact that one of its guests (a chef for a restaurant in their local broadcast area) had the same forename ("Jason") and surname ("Smith") as one of the weather reporters for the local news operation of its station.
