  • The main broadcast channels for WEAR-TV and WPMI-TV each appeared to have had special programming related to weather within certain periods of time in which they were set to have programming related to certain sports from their respective providers of network programming (the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) and the National Broadcasting Company (NBC)) before having such programming afterwards this Sunday (note: the channels occasionally appeared to have had two digital boxes with videos of weather reporters for their respective news operations appearing to speak and videos of programs related to certain sports from their respective providers of network programming without audio).

  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the twenty-fourth day of this May ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of its reporters (a weather reporter named Jason Smith) saying, "Peaking ahead, here's where we're thinking rain probability wise -- our chances for the weekend, and, uh -- we'll start seeing some showers severely anytime now -- I mean, we've all ready experienced it the last couple days; it's been a soupy air mass as we're awaiting a tropic--tropical system potentially that into Saturday we can get the outer fringes of it interacting with a moist air mass that's all ready in place across the region and then on Sunday we go to ninety percent; Monday, we're going with ninety percent at this point; Tuesday, still a real, real high chance -- maybe that'll back off, but I wouldn't bet on it; a lot of things are slowing it down -- whatever it is that arrives and moves our way; and we've certainly been through this before -- I mean if you've ever lived in the gulf coast any length of time, we've experienced tropical storms, and a low-wind tropical storm is not a situation -- even a medium-level tropical storm is typically not a situation that can produce a lot of damaging winds and power outages and that kind of thing -- that's not what we're talking about, but, when you have one that moves slow, it could produce a lot of a rain (Lenise Ligon (one of the news presenters for the program): Mmm-hmm), and then that gets into a flooding situation -- that's where we're most concerned with and we're thinking that -- you know -- the rain may start in earnest on Sunday, but really maybe Sunday night or Monday before things get to the point of where we'll see some flooding -- it's just too far out to tell", one of its news presenters (Byron Day) saying, "Like you said, it could continue on into Tuesday" immediately afterwards, the reporter saying, "Right, which would be terrible" immediately afterwards, and the saying, news presenter saying, "Yeah, we're going to get to moldy and pruny pretty soon" immediately afterwards, and the reporter saying, "That's right" immediately afterwards.
