News for Wednesday, May 30th, 2018

  • A certain Facebook page related to WKRG-TV appeared to had been used by its administration to post a certain message expressing condolences on behalf of them on the Tuesday of the twenty-eighth day of this May.  
  • The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV appeared to have had special programming from their news operation when it was usually set to have a certain program from their main provider of network programming (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) from Monday through Friday in recent times ("The Talk" during the hour of 1:00 p.m.) this Wednesday (note #1: a certain Facebook page related to WKRG-TV appeared to have had live video of the special programming (note #2: the channel appeared to have have had another network program from the provider during the hour of 2:00 p.m. this Wednesday ("Let's Make a Deal").
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of the twenty-ninth day of this May ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had one of its reporters (a sports reporter named Randy Patrick Setterstrom) saying, "All right, on a radio show -- the John Racciatti radio golf show a few months ago, I predicted Alabama's golf team had the talent to win the national championship; I'm one round away from that prediction coming true" to one of its news presenters (Mel Showers) immediately after the news presenter appeared to had said, "It's time now for sports and here's Randy Patrick".  
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of the twenty-ninth day of this May ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Byron Day) saying, "Now check this out: before Alberto slammed into the southeast, it drenched Cuba -- these are the rushing waters of the Zaza River -- were just too much for one bridge to handle -- it collapses right in front of  two people who were just about to attempt to walk across -- look at this...two of the luckiest people I know --  they were just seconds away from being swept away inside the rapids below the river, but somehow they were able to turn around as the bridge was collapsing and making it safely back to shore", its other news presenter (Lenise Ligon) saying, "Wow, that video is something else" immediately afterwards, and the news presenter mentioned first saying, "It really is" immediately afterwards. 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of the twenty-ninth day of this May ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Devon Walsh) saying, "As expected, current governor Kay Ivey did not show up", "A panel of three journalists asked the tough questions that matter to you", and, "One big topic of concern: school safely" for one of its reports; and, "To northwest Florida now: Crestview's first Chick-fil-A will open this Thursday adding ninety new jobs to the area -- the store's located at three thousand South Ferdon Boulevard. To help celebrate the restaurant's opening, Chick-fil-A is giving the first one hundred customers the opportunity to win free meals for a year -- and just so you know, the parking lot will be open at six a.m.; a full twenty-four hours before the grand opening. You'll want to get there early for a family-friendly party for the chance to win free food" for one of its other reports.
