News for Saturday, June 2nd, 2018

- Some of the local news programming WKRG-TV had on their main broadcast
channel on the Thursday of the thirty-first day of the month of May of
this calendar year appeared to have had reports of a certain crime in
which the word "bizarre" was often used in reference to the crime itself in their narratives.
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Thursday
of the thirty-first day of the month of May for this calendar year ("FOX
10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of its reporters (a
weather reporter named Jason Smith") saying this for a report related to weather: "Look at Sunday: whoa! Ninety-five! Likely to see a
heat index of about a hundred and five with one here on Sunday").
- A certain local TV program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Friday of the first day of this June ("Studio 10") appeared to have had some tributes to one of its hosts (Joe Emer) and some critical statements of him in between those tributes (note: one of the tributes appeared to had involved its other host (Chasity Byrd) singing the words "happy birthday" to him whereas some of the criticism appeared to had come from that other host and a certain guest of theirs).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. on the Thursday
of the thirty-first day of the month of May for this calendar year
("WKRG News 5 at Noon") appeared to have had audio of its news presenter
(Jason Carter) saying, "Coming up, we take you to the kitchen where the
good people at Carrabbas are going to show you one of their favorite
dishes. I'm seeing -- oh, look at -- John Nodar is putting on --- woo!
It's happening! Stay with us, we'll be right back" before one of its
breaks from appearing on the channel in that period of time that day and one of its reporters (a weather reporter named John Nodar) saying,
"Here, I'll arm wrestle you for this fork" to the news presenter in the
part of the program that appeared on the channel after the last of those
breaks.
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel
for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the
twenty-third day of the month of this May for this calendar year ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to
have had one of its news presenters (Lenise Ligon) saying, "All right,
we have been looking at the...tracker, right (Jason Smith
(a weather reporter): Right, we
cou--)...trying to see how much rain we're going to get, or not", one of
its reporters (the Jason Smith mentioned earlier) saying, "We could
get a lot" to her immediately afterwards, the news presenter saying,"
I'm trying to be hopeful" immediately afterwards; the reporter
saying, "It's not looking good -- we're talking about possible tropical
activity messing up our holiday weekend" immediately afterwards for a
certain part of it (before one of its breaks from appearing on the
channel in this period of time that day); its other news presenter (Bob Grip)
saying, "All right, we're going to resemble wet people this weekend"
and the reporter saying, "We could; very much so -- in fact, all eyes on
the tropics -- right now, not an organized depression (Bob Grip: Good)
or storm, but that could change -- the chances are now high that we'll
get some development in the gulf this weekend -- and this is Memorial
Day weekend, so your forecast is coming up" immediately afterwards for
a separate part of it (after one of the aforementioned breaks).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the thirty-first day of the month of May for this calendar year ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to have had a video with a report in which phrases such as, "To make matters worse" and "Hindsight is twenty twenty" were part of its narrative; one of its news presenters (Byron Day) saying, "Fingers crossed, Jason. Thank you" immediately after appearing to have had a report related to weather from a reporter named "Jason" (Jason Smith), Well, it's a real treat for South Alabama alums -- like my self -- we are getting a first look tonight at what South Alabama's new football stadium is expected to look like"; its other news presenter (Lenise Ligon) saying, "An alum" immediately afterwards; the news presenter mentioned first saying, "An alum" immediately afterwards; the other news presenter saying, "You" immediately afterwards; and the news presenter mentioned first saying, "Me" immediately afterwards; one of its other reporters (a sports reporter named Bri MacNaught) saying, "Nothing long about that timeline at all" for the narrative of another report; a certain report in which critical language was part of its narrative; the reporter named "Jason" mentioned earlier saying, "Sunday could be the hottest day we see as we head into that weekend; this will be a day that you will need to be at the pool and, um, finding shade and that type of thing, ok, because Sunday's a hot one for us" and, "Maybe we'll get a little dry air front next week -- that should be nice -- that sure would be nice if it does happen" for another report related to weather; the first news presenter mentioned saying, "Our Chasity Byrd sets the record straight on some of the biggest myths of skin cancer", and a certain report in which phrases such as, "Google skin cancer: you will get plenty of information on it, but as with most things, it's better to get first hand advice", "The second myth: the higher the SPF, the better. I've fallen for this one; wrong again", "One thing that isn't a myth: prevention -- the earlier a problem is detected, the better" were part of its narrative.
