News for Thursday, December 29th, 2016

• The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV this past Wednesday on the twenty-eighth day of this December ("FOX 10 News at 4:00 p.m.") had an interview with a person who appeared to be an admirer of one of the weather reporters for their local news operation (Jason Smith) in a video about him that was shown on the program this past Monday on the twenty-sixth day of this December (they had another report about the person on a local news program that appeared on the channel in a time period when it usually did not have such a program (between the second half of the hour of 11:00 p.m. this past Wednesday and the first half of the hour of 12:00 a.m. this Thursday) due to some special network programming it had during two of those time periods for Monday through Friday (the hour of 9:00 p.m. (for "FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") and the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. (for "FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.")). 

• The sports reporter for the local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first halves of the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. this past Wednesday (Randy Patrick Setterstrom on "WKRG News 5 at 6" and "WKRG News 5 at 10") and the news presenter for the one that appeared on the channel during the second half of the hour of 4:00 a.m. and the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. this Thursday (Jessica Taloney on "WKRG News 5 This Morning") had mentioned another TV station in their local broadcast area unrelated to theirs by name (the other station was actually related to other TV stations in the area (WPMI-TV, WEAR-TV, and WFGX-TV) due to their having the same separate owners and operators) while saying residents in the area could watch a football game involving the football team for one of the universities in the area (University of South Alabama in Mobile in southwest Alabama) expected to occur this Friday on the thirtieth day of this December through this station that day (the name of the station was WJTC-TV).
