- The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. this past Monday on
the nineteenth day of this December ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m." and "FOX
10 News at 9:00 p.m."). had a special report
about two persons dressed as two fictional characters in which they
were only addressed by the names of the characters they were
portraying (the characters were named Santa Claus and Mrs.
Claus).
- The first segment of the local news program that appeared on the main
broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00
p.m. this Monday ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") was mainly about an effort of
theirs to donate toys to residents of their local broadcast area might
not new toys on Christmas Day this calendar year (they had a report about the effort on their local news program on the first half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. that day ("WKRG News 5 at 5")).*
- An animated sequence normally used to begin new editions of a national
news program named "World News Now" between the years 2001 and 2004 was
still being used by the station that usually had it in their main
programming feed on a regular basis during those years (WEAR-TV) by this
December); usually as a way for the feed to switch to new editions of
the program "all ready in progress" (the sequence used had audio of a
person saying, "We now join 'World News Now' all ready in progress").
(*the segment was presented by the news presenter and weather reporter for the program (
Devon Walsh and
John Nodar respectively) in a part of their broadcast studio where some of the toys for the effort were kept in storage (it also had an interview (conducted by the news presenter) with the manager of their broadcast operation (
Mark Bunting))
