News for Saturday, December 24th, 2016
- The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV was set to have two special programs (named "Christmas is" and "The City That Forgot About Christmas") during the hour when it usually had a local news program (named "WKRG News 5 This Morning: Saturday") on Saturday mornings within the past year this Saturday (note: the first one was set to appear on the channel at the beginning of that hour (5:00 a.m.) whereas the second was set to appear at the beginning of the other half (5:30 a.m.)).
- Some of the news presenters for the local news operations at WALA-TV and WPMI-TV (Candace Murphy of WALA-TV and James Gordon of WPMI-TV) and some of the weather reporters for the ones at WPMI-TV and WKRG-TV (Jake Dunne of WPMI-TV; Thomas Geboy of WKRG-TV) were using some of their respective news programs for this Saturday ("FOX 10 News in the Morning" for WALA-TV; "Local 15 News at 5 p.m." and "Local 15 News at 10 p.m. for WPMI-TV"; "WKRG News 5 at 6" for WKRG-TV) to talk about a fictitious tracking system involving a fictional character (named Santa Claus) said to be delivering gifts to various places on the planet Earth as if it the character were an actual person actually being tracked.
