• Some past and present members of WKRG-TV celebrated the 60th anniversary of their first day of regular programming (the Monday of September 5th, 1955) at the Mobile Museum of Art in Mobile this past Wednesday, October 14th.

• A revised version of one of the animated sequences for WALA-TV's local news programs was uploaded onto the World Wide Web site YouTube this past May (the revised version had different music and a different announcer). 

• A former radio announcer for WBLX-FM and the mayor of Saraland, Alabama (north of Mobile) made live appearances on WPMI-TV's local morning news program ("Local 15 Today") today (the name of the former announcer was Gina Brown; the name of the mayor was Howard Rubenstein)
