News for Wednesday, October 28th, 2015
(note: the last paragraph of the report titled "News for Monday, October 26th, 2015" was corrected for accuracy)
- WALA-TV had local news programming between 12:34 a.m. and 1:04 a.m. today due to their main broadcast channel having baseball programming from their main provider of network programming (the FOX Broadcasting Company) from 6:30 p.m. yesterday until shortly before 12:34 a.m. today (their main broadcast channel was normally used for local news programming by then).
- A message about some changes planned for WKRG-TV's digital sub-channel for broadcasting weather information (including maps, text, and instructional programs) began appearing on the channel on a frequent basis recently ("Weather information on this digital channel 5.2 will be permanently replaced by ION TV this weekend. Please use wkrg.com or the free News 5 weather app for weather, outside of our newscasts").
- One of the hosts for WALA-TV's local entertainment and lifestyle program (Joe Emer of "Studio 10") referred to its other host (Chasity Byrd) by a nickname similar to one used by a lawyer (Mike ("The Alabama Hammer") Slocumb) in some videos about his law firm that had been part of their programming plans on a regular basis in recent times while discussing ideas about what her life would have been if she had chosen to become a lawyer instead of a meteorologist (he even imitated the way the lawyer shouted the nickname he used for his self in at least one of the videos when he suggested that she calls herself "the Hammer" if she were a lawyer in a video for a law firm of her very own).
We need Qubo next.
