• WKRG-TV had video related to a series of shootings that occurred at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut (Sandy Hook Elementary) on the Friday of December 14th, 2012, mixed with video related to a series of shootings that occurred at a college in Roseburg, Oregon (Umpqua Community College) last Thursday, October 1st, in their local news programming while a news presenter of theirs presented a report about the shootings that occurred last Thursday as part of that programming. 

• The news presenter for WKRG-TV's local 9:00 a.m. news program for Monday through Friday (Devon Walsh of "WKRG News 5 at 9" and Monday through Friday editions of "WKRG News 5 at 5" (she usually presented news for the program with another news presenter for WKRG-TV named Peter Albrecht) used part of today's edition of the 9:00 a.m. news program to promote a new edition of a national network TV game show ("Let's Make a Deal") with a resident of their local broadcast area (Judith Goolsby of East Brewton in Escambia County, Alabama, east of Mobile County and Baldwin County) that was expected to be part of their programming today.
